REGENERATION OF HARROW CENTRE RECEIVES MORE POSITIVE NEWS

Fairview New Homes library site in Harrow wins consent.

Joining a number of high-profile, successful projects that Preconstruct have worked on in Harrow, Gayton Road is a major residential scheme for our regular client Fairview New Homes.

The vacant former Harrow library site is being regenerated to create a development of 355 new homes. The 1.31-hectare site off Gayton Road, which was previously home to the library, an apartment building and a car park.


Harrow have a well developed framework for assessing the impact of proposals upon a landmark viewing corridors and wider settings for a number of key protected views, limiting development that impacts on views of important heritage assets including Harrow-on-the-Hill.

A range of views were identified through scoping in addition to the protected views required by Harrow, resulting in an extensive set of local and long range views delivered within a fast-track design process.

The planning application was submitted in January 2016 with permission being granted in July, wiht project completion scheduled for mid-2018.
